Membership is open to civilians in any agency of the federal or D.C. governments, including: Retirees, Current Employees, Spouses and former spouses of current employees or retirees, Former employees eligible for deferred annuity and Survivors of those eligible to join NARFE

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) has been safeguarding and improving the earned rights and benefits of America's active and retired federal employees since 1921. NARFE represents some five million federal workers, retirees, spouses and their survivors.
A President's Council for the Chapters in these areas was established as an unofficial organization of NARFE and has no standing in the conduct of official business between the chapters and the State or National offices of NARFE. The purpose of the council is to promote the NARFE National Objective within the District VI boundaries as established by the CA Federation of Chapters.
The objectives of the Council are: To provide an opportunity for Chapter Presidents to meet and exchange ideas with each other and the District VI Vice President. To coordinate and support a NARFE Retiree Service Center within the geographic area of District VI.
District VI of the California State of Federation of Chapters has chapters in the following counties:
